Top 5 Photos with Nick Irwin

This is the ninth feature in our blog series where we ask local photographers to share their 5 favorite photos of the Grand Haven area. This week we are pleased to feature photographer Nick Irwin

Nick Irwin resides in Grand Rapids and is fairly new to the photography scene. He started shooting with a DLSR in February and is enjoying every minute of it. Nick primarily does landscape photography throughout Michigan, but favors the Grand Haven area parks and beaches because of the beauty and wide variety of photo opportunities. Nick will also have an ArtPrize entry at Moosejaw this September and had the cover photo for the annual Grand Rapids Business Journal this August.

“The magic of good photography is not just about reliving the memory of being there; rather, it’s about making a person who wasn’t present feel the mood that the picture encompasses”~ Nick Irwin

Here are Nick Irwin’s Top 5 Photos he has taken in the Grand Haven area and why!

#1 Never Alone
This photo was taken at North Beach Park and makes me wonder if the seagull is thinking, “Why is in my space?”

# 2 Reflections in the Sand
An all inclusive beach photo: sunset, awesome clouds, and reflection of the sky with the lighthouses in the distance.

#3 Pier Ice
Mostly only locals remain in the winter, but this is one of the most beautiful times of the year in Grand Haven.

#4 A Moody Sunset
Taken at Kirk Park, this is a reminder that not all sunsets have to be bright to be stunning.

#5  Watercolor Americana
The Wind Dancer sails into a back lit watercolor painting.
