Come to the museum (Centennial Hall) for the third lecture in our “Michigan Myths & Legends” lecture series! West Michigan Historians Kurt Troutman and George Maniates will be at the museum presenting on two legendary stories that occurred at a time in Michigan’s past where tensions were high: The Battle of Fudge Island: Michigan’s War in 1812, and the Toledo War.

Grand Valley Renaissance Festival 2022

Grand Valley Renaissance Festival is the longest running completely student-run Renaissance Festival in the country–and it’s FREE! Held on the Allendale, Michigan campus of Grand Valley State University, the faire was founded in 1996 and features entertainment, merchants, and other sorts of Renaissance shenanigans.
