Spring Into Spring 2015
Today’s guest blogger is Andy Cawthon who is the Promotions Committee Chair the Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority. Andy highlights what to expect at this year’s event in downtown Grand Haven.
In the past, the advent of Spring in Downtown Grand Haven was ushered in with a “Girls Getaway Weekend” of dining, fashion, shopping and fun! This year’s event has those options and more!
By collaborating with the Katty Shack 5K Race, participants can now literally “Spring Into Spring” in a race that honors victims of violent crime. Runners and non-runners alike can honor crime victims at a fund-raising dinner Friday night that will include great food courtesy of Two Tony’s, benefit raffles, great music and a fashion show! The raffles prizes will feature fabulous prizes such as bicycles, “money trees” covered with Lotto tickets and gift certificates from Downtown Grand Haven merchants!
Saturday is race day followed by shopping in Downtown Grand Haven. Those runners needing to “hit the showers” can buy a day pass at the Tri-Cities YMCA and thenenjoy their afternoon downtown. Many downtown merchants will be offering special merchandise and “trunk” shows. Local restaurants, microbreweries, wine tasting rooms and clubs will offer a wide variety of exciting food, beverages and entertainment Friday and Saturday.
Make a weekend out of it thanks to area lodging properties who are offering overnight packages and deals.
