Grand Haven Spring Fling Weekend Events

Spring has officially made it’s arrival in the Grand Haven Area! Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 23 & Sunday, April 24 for the Spring Fling in downtown Grand Haven. The weekend will be jam-packed with a variety of activities and events for everyone to enjoy.

Saturday, April 23, 2022

Earth Day Lakeshore Celebration
1-4pm, Parade begins at 12:30pm | Central Park, Grand Haven
This year’s Earth Day Celebration will be outdoors at Central Park in Grand Haven! The event will kick off with the Green Parade though downtown. Anyone and everyone is invited to join the parade – use any non-fossil fueled vehicles and bring your signs, strollers, bikes, roller blades, and dogs! Meet at the County Courthouse parking lot. Following the parade, Righteous Cuisine food truck will be serving up good eats, Steel Doin’ It will be performing live music, and vendors will have booths supporting sustainability, art activities for kids, and free horse-drawn wagon rides.

Chili Blues Cookoff
12-6pm | Snug Harbor
Enjoy an afternoon of live music, drink specials, and chili on the heated deck at Snug Harbor! Vote for your favorite chili as contestants compete against one another for the ultimate prize of being crowned the Chili Cooking Master! Music by Big Daddy begins at 2pm and tasting begin at 3pm.

Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy Fundraiser
2-7pm | Eagles Club #925
Join the City of Grand Haven and the Lighthouse Conservancy to support Phase II of the InsideOut campaign in raising funds to open the lighthouses to the public. Enjoy a silent & live auction, music, beer, wine & spirits! The auction begins around 5pm and includes items such as VIP Coast Guard Festival Package, Historical Catwalk Bend, Lions, Tigers & Bears Tickets, YMCA Family Membership, and Golf Package. For other ways to support, send a donation to the Lighthouse Rehabilitation Fund.

Art on Main Street
1-4pm | Washington Avenue, Grand Haven
Previously held at Duncan woods, this event is now being held in downtown Grand Haven. Washington Street will be shut down between 2nd and 3d street, allowing shoppers the opportunity to browse art from the trunks of artists’ cars. Hosted by Lakeshore Visual Art Collective, a wide range of art by original artists will be displayed such as jewelry, clay, glass, watercolor, oil, paper arts, and more.

World Book Day
12-5pm | Central Park, Grand Haven
In honor of World Book Day, Brilliance Publishing is providing thousands of books for free to the community! World Book Day is a national charity event held annually to encourage the love of reading and to get books into the hands of the reader. So come on out to Central Park and find your new favorite summer read.
