Encounter the Arts

Central Park Place is home to Encounter the Arts, a free annual event that began in 2022 to celebrate Grand Haven’s vibrant arts community through family-friendly workshops and performances. At the event, local artists lead various classes and demonstrations for people of all ages. Encounter the Arts is an open house-style event, so everyone in the community can come and go as they please.

Play Ball! Sports History in the Tri-Cities

Play Ball! Sports History in the Tri-Cities is an exciting exploration of sports that are dear to American hearts as well as those unique to the Tri-Cities geography and history. 

Visitors of all ages will enjoy the interactive portions included as part of this exhibit: a mini putting green, a recording of the Grand Haven 1954 football win over rival Holland, plus hands-on exploration of sports equipment textures, materials, and construction.

This exhibit opens to the public on May 20, 2023, and will be ongoing through September 26, 2023 during regular business hours. The Tri-Cities Historical Museum is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Summer extended hours (Tuesday – Saturday until 8:00 pm) run from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is free to the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. Admission is always free!
