The Best Halloween Activities in the Grand Haven Area 2015
During the Halloween season, the Grand Haven area showcases yet another reason that is a four season destination and more than just a beach destination. Area businesses and attractions get into the trick or treat spirit with fun events for all ages. Here are some of our favorite area Halloween events and activities!
#1 – Grand Haven Zombie Walk
The undead will soon begin to gather for the Grand Haven Zombie Walk. This event is in its 5th year and takes place on Saturday, October 24 at 4:00pm. The gathering location is different this year. The zombies will gather at the west end of Washington Ave. and make their way east to 7th Street and back. This is a free event but non-perishable food items will be accepted and donated to a local food pantry. More info…
Tour through the museum’s “haunted” festive exhibits Saturday, October 24th from 1-5pm. This kid and family friendly event is suitable for all ages. New this year, Students from the Spotlight Dance Academy will give a brief performance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” every half hour from 2-4:30 pm. Free event. More info…
The Allendale Pumpkin Walk is a 10th of a mile walk through a wooded path that is lined with over 700 carved and lit pumpkins. At the end of the walk, visitors are served hot apple cider and goodies. Open Friday, October 23rd & Saturday, October 24th from 6-9pm. More info…
#4 – Pumpkin Carving & Ugly Halloween Sweater Party
Yep you read that right! Grand Armory Brewing is hosting pumpkin carving on Sunday, October 25th from 3-7pm. They have their brews on tap as well as Michigan hard cider and wines. Fresh apple cider will also be available. It’s BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) and ugly Halloween sweaters are encourage to get in the holiday spirit. More info…
This is a Fall tradition not to be missed! Passengers on the Coopersville & Marne Railway are entertained during the journey by the Grand Pumpkin, Scarecrow and Little Crow. Each paid child’s ticket includes a free, locally grown pumpkin that the kids can pick from the Pumpkin Patch at the end of the ride. The train departs Saturdays and Sundays through October. #6 – Bethke Farms Pumpkin Patch
With fields of pumpkins in the Grand Haven area, families come from all over to take a picture of their children as they find the perfect Halloween pumpkin and pick it right off the vine. With little pumpkins, as small as an orange, and beautiful large pumpkins, you are sure to find the pumpkin that is just right for your Halloween Jack-O-Lantern. Laugh and have fun in the new 3 1/2 acre Corn Maze, take a fall hay ride get lost in the corn maze and get a pumpkin here in West Michigan. Make this part of your Halloween tradition. #7 – City of Ferrysburg Monster Bash
Join the City of Ferrysburg at City Hall for their annual Monster Mash on Friday, October 30th from 6-8pm. Enjoy cider, donuts, prizes and more. Costumes are encouraged at this free community event. More info…
#8 – Coopersville Farm Museum Community Costume Party
This free, family friendly costume party takes place Saturday, October 31st from 10am-2pm at the Coopersville Farm Museum. Activities includes inside trick or treating, crafts, games, face painting, and a chance to play with small, baby farm animals. More info…
#9 – Trick or Treating
Because it just isn’t Halloween without a Jack-O-Lantern shaped bucket full of fun-sized candy. Downtown Grand Haven merchants are hosting trick-or-treating from 4-6pm on Saturday, October 31st. Traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating will follow in Grand Haven and the surrounding areas from 6-8pm. More info…
#10 – Halloween @ The Kirby House
The Kirby House will host two fun events this Halloween – one for the kiddos and one for the 21 & up crowd. On Saturday, October 31st from 4-6pm little ghouls and goblins can stop by The Kirby House during downtown trick-or-treating to go through their kid friendly haunted house in the lower level. At 9pm, the adult Halloween party begins with live music upstairs and a DJ in The Dark Room. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes. You must be 21 & up with a valid ID to enter. More info…
#11 – Haunted Dance Party @ The Haunted Armory
Grand Armory Brewing is hosting its first ever Halloween Party at the newly opened brewery on Saturday, October 31st from 8pm to midnight. Adult trick-or-treaters can treat themselves to their brews on tap as well as Michigan hard ciders and wine. Don’t forget your costume for the costume contest complete with prizes. More info…
Jack’s inside the Holiday Inn once again is hosting their epic Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 31st from 9pm to 1am. There will be live music and $500 in cash prizes for best costumes. More info…
