The Great Lakes Kite Festival is a lively event put on by MACkite during the weekend before Memorial Day weekend as a fun way to kick off the summer. The event will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 10am – 5pm and Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 11am-5pm, and is located at the State Park in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Kite Festival has no admissions fees, so bring the whole family or a group of friends to enjoy this entertaining kick off to the summer festivities in the Grand Haven area!

1) Get some great photos 

For the photographers around, the kite festival will be filled with vibrant colors, awesome kites of all shapes and sizes, and our beautiful beach making it a perfect background for every photo.

2) See giant kites 

The kite festival will be featuring a couple of kites that are as big as school buses!

3) Stop by the world’s largest outdoor kite store

This kite store is located right on the beach next to all the action. They will be selling the newest kite flying gear, the latest kites, windsocks and toys. The kite store will open Friday afternoon and close Sunday at the end of the event.

4) Kiteboarding demonstrations 

The kite festival is a wonderful opportunity to get your feet wet and try a new adventurous outdoor activity.

5) Fly a kite
