USA Today has rounded up 20 nominees for Best Freshwater Beach in their 10Best Readers’ Choice contest – and Grand Haven State Park has been selected as a finalist! Voting is open now, and ends Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 11:59am EDT. That allows four weeks to vote for Grand Haven State Park as one of the 10 Best Freshwater Beaches in America!

USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice contests give readers the opportunity to vote for the top 10 destinations in a given travel category. USA Today and 10Best determine a desired travel category, and nominate the top 20 destinations that best fit from across the nation. Readers and fans then vote for their favorite destinations from the top 20 nominees to determine the top 10 best destinations in the category.

We know and love Grand Haven State Park for its beautiful sandy shore along Lake Michigan. 48 acres of sand offers scenic views of both Lake Michigan and the Grand River, as well as the beautiful and historic Grand Haven pier and lighthouse. Grand Haven State Park is a beach-goer’s paradise with summer activities like camping, fishing, sunbathing, volleyball, and swimming. Lake Michigan’s size provides the greatest perks of the ocean, such as big waves for surfing – without the salt or sharks.
