Grand Ravines Park

Grand Ravines is a 202-acre Ottawa County Park with a half-mile of frontage on the Grand River and can be accessed from the north and south. A county-wide natural features inventory completed in 1988 identified the extensive system of deep ravines that extends along the GVSU riverfront and through what is now park property as one of the most significant natural features in Ottawa County. The deep ravines feature unique plant communities, including a variety of ferns and trees uncommon to the area, such as Kentucky coffee-trees, paw paws and towering tulip trees.

The dog park is located at Grand Ravines South (on Fillmore East of 42nd Avenue), minutes from the residents of Allendale, Jenison, and Hudsonville and is free to the public.

The Lodge at Grand Ravines offers a serene and picturesque setting, overlooking the Grand River.

The Ottawa County Parks Foundation received a private donation to fund the final design, engineering, and construction of the “Treehouse” covered overlook deck at Grand Ravines County Park.  It is located adjacent to the Grand Ravines Lodge and provides gorgeous views of the deep ravines. The raised structure has boardwalk access and provides another unique way to experience the wooded ravines as a resting point or location for small programs.
