We've got the beach, you bring the masterpiece!

We will be hosting the 43rd Annual Sand Sculpture Contest on Saturday June 20, the day before Father’s Day. This contest is the perfect way to spend time with friends, family, and business colleagues, while you compete individually or in teams to create the most impressive sand sculpture! A panel of local judges will be present to decide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each category, Group, Youth, Individual and Short Contest. Beach-goers who choose to watch this exciting contest from the sidelines will also be given the opportunity to participate by casting a “people’s choice” vote.

This year we welcome back Sand Pros Sand Pirates who will be sharing tips, tricks and demonstrations as well as Sand Fanatics who will be attempting a large-scale exhibition build. After the competition wraps up, join us as we 'Storm The Castle', playfully and safely deconstructing the enormous sculpture.

In collaboration with Harbor Transit, a FREE Park-N-Ride shuttle will be available for those wishing to take in the creativity from the shoreline. The shuttle will begin running round-trips to City Beach beginning at 10am. Pickup point: Duneside Discovery Center, 1400 Wisconsin St, Grand Haven.
