Located near the confluence of the Grand River and Lake Michigan, Idema Explorers Camp at Ottawa Sands offers a unique and immersive outdoor experience. This thoughtfully designed camp-style destination features three tree-houses, five yurts, and ten tent pad sites, providing a range of options for nature enthusiasts. Made possible by a generous gift from the Bill and Bea Idema Foundation to Ottawa County Parks & Recreation.  This camp is a testament to the commitment of conservation and outdoor recreation of the Idema Family and Ottawa County Parks & Recreation.

A Gateway to Nature and Exploration

Campers have access to 345 acres of diverse landscapes, including forested trails, sand dunes, and riverfront areas. The camp is seamlessly connected to North Ottawa Dunes and P.J. Hoffmaster State Park, allowing visitors to explore an extensive network of trails and natural habitats. Additionally, Lake Michigan access at nearby North Beach Park offers opportunities for relaxation and water-based activities.
