The Ottawa Peninsula
Ferrysburg is not a new community. Rather it has its roots woven deeply into the fabric of the Tri-Cities area. It’s namesake comes from its founders the Ferry family who established the village of Ferrysburg in 1857.
Nestled along the Grand River, Spring Lake, and the shore of Lake Michigan, Ferrysburg offers a large variety of outdoor recreation all year long. During the Spring, hikers can explore the many trails of the Kitchel Lindquist Dune Preserve. In the summertime, beach-goers can enjoy swimming and playing in the sand at North Beach Park. As the leaves change, riding along the area bike paths give bicyclists gorgeous views of the vivid fall colors. As the snow falls, North Ottawa Dunes offers beautiful and challenging trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
As you can see though Ferrysburg may be a small community, it offers endless outdoor recreation activities.
