Grand Valley State University is a public university in Allendale, Michigan. It was established in 1960 and its main campus is situated on 1,322 acres (5.35 km2) approximately 12 miles (19 km) west of Grand Rapids. It is a scenic University with a Performing Arts Center, Golf Course, Field House and Recreation Center.

Overlooking Crockery Lake from a bluff amid towering trees, this 40 acre park provides a variety of recreational opportunities for the entire family including swimming, fishing, sand volleyball and picnicking. About one mile of hiking trails along a creek and through the woods offers abundant spring wildflowers from mid-April through May. This park is near the towns of Nunica and Coopersville
