One of the world’s most significant botanic and sculpture experiences, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park served 670,000 visitors in 2019 and was recently listed in the top 30 most visited museums in the United States. Located in Grand Rapids. Michigan about a 45 minute drive.

The Gillette Visitor Center features exhibits to tell Michigan’s unique sand dune story. Within easy access from the visitor center, the half-mile Lake Michigan Trail goes up and over the park’s sheltered backdune forest and leads visitors out into a grassy foredune with a sweeping view of the beach and Lake Michigan.

The Coopersville and Marne Railway run passenger trains from spring to winter, rain or shine, to preserve a little chunk of railroad history and educate their passengers along the way.
