Family Framing Business

Fred Borchers opened the Frame and Mat Shop in 1970, combining two decades of wood finishing experience at Story & Clark Piano with his keen eye for design. The family-run business would lay roots in West Michigan, with many of Fred’s children ultimately opening custom framing shops of their own.

Today, Dan Borchers carries on the family tradition in Grand Haven. At the Shop, every customer’s treasure is recognized as invaluable, because what comes through their doors always comes with a story. So today, they combine decades of professional experience and the conservation grade materials to complement and protect your piece. And most of all, they look forward to hearing its story.

The Story Keeps Growing

In 1980, a second shop was opened in Holland, Michigan for area customers. A third shop serving Rockford, Michigan was added in 2007. The Frame and Mat Shop can provide you with full art packages, custom framing, and installation. They can assist you whether your needs are personal or corporate.
