Meet the 2021 Summer Interns
This summer, the Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to welcome three new Marketing & Media Interns onto our team: Lidia, Izzy, and Kelsey.
Lidia
Hello! My name is Lidia. I grew up in the little town of Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is about 3 hours away on the east side. If you haven’t heard of it before, it is famously known for its chicken dinners and has the largest Christmas store in the world, Bronner’s! If you haven’t already, I recommend taking a visit. You won’t regret it!
After graduating high school, I headed off to Grand Valley State University, where I will earn my Bachelor of Arts in Writing and English Language & Literature at the end of this summer. During freshman year, one of my friends brought me to Grand Haven to watch the sunset and I immediately fell in love. I have become a frequent visitor ever since, and now have the opportunity to work in the place that I enjoy so much and help other people fall in love with it too!
When I’m not working at the bureau, I am most likely playing with my adorable cat Cinder, practicing my photography (which is a new hobby of mine), or going on road trips around Michigan. I’m looking forward to working at GHACVB this summer, and I hope to see you around!
Izzy
Hello there! My name is Izzy. I attended a local community college after graduating high school, and graduated from GRCC in 2018 with an Associate of Arts & Sciences. I then continued my education at Grand Valley State University where I will receive my Bachelor of Science in Writing after the completion of this internship. Reading and writing are two of my favorite pastimes and it’s my current life goal to publish a fantasy novel (and hopefully a few more). When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking sweet treats, and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Growing up only an hour away from the lakeshore in Caledonia, MI, going to the beach was a weekly occurrence in the summer, rotating between Holland State Park and Grand Haven State Park. In the past several years my family lodged for a week at a vacation rental in Grand Haven, giving me ample time to explore beyond the beach and enjoy everything the area has to offer. I love coming to Grand Haven and I’m so excited to help others have a great visit whether it is packed full of activities or a relaxing stay. Hope to see you this summer!
Kelsey
Hey everyone! My name is Kelsey. I am from a small town called Swartz Creek, which is on the East side. I grew up being very involved in sports and I even got the chance to play basketball for two years at Mott Community College. After my two years at Mott, I transferred to Grand Valley State University to study Advertising and Public Relations. I have enjoyed studying at GVSU and I am excited to explore the opportunities here at the Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
I have always been a fan of traveling, warm weather and chasing sunsets. When I am not at work, you can find me enjoying the sun or hanging out with friends. Grand Haven is a great town and has beautiful sunsets, so I am happy to be here and see what the future holds!
