Meet the Summer 2019 Marketing and Media Interns: Natalie & Isabel
Hi! My name is Natalie, and I am one of the Marketing and Media interns at the Grand Haven Area Convention and Visitors Bureau for this summer.
I am originally from the East Side of Michigan, but found myself here on the West Side of the state (and I love it!) for school about four years ago. I just graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Public Relations and a minor in Writing.
This summer, I, along with Isabel, will be working on marketing and media aspects for the Grand Haven Area. I have always enjoyed the Grand Haven Area, and I am so excited to really get to experience it firsthand and help promote such an awesome and fun place!
In my free time when I’m not lounging around at home (which is honestly a lot of the time), you can find me doing a variety of things. I love hanging out with my friends and family the most. In addition to that, I like spontaneously going places, which is actually how I came across Grand Haven in the first place. I really enjoy trying new restaurants and finding spots that I have never been to before to check out and learn more about. Some interests of mine include working out, listening to music (almost all genres with the exception of a few), going to concerts, camping, going to the beach, playing with my cat, Oakley (love him, but dogs are still better), videography/photography, watching movies, going to sports games such as the Tigers, taking naps, traveling, and more.
Hello Grand Haven Area! My name is Isabel, and I am a Marketing and Media intern this summer at the Grand Haven Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
Growing up in Norton Shores, just 20 minutes from the Grand Haven Area, I remember coming to the area all the time with my friends and family whether it was for a bike ride, soccer practice, or frozen yogurt. I am so excited to be spending more time in the Grand Haven Area this summer so I can discover all of the hidden gems that only locals know about.
This upcoming fall, I will be entering my junior year at the University of Michigan. Since I am pursuing a degree in Communications, I look forward to writing blogs, editing videos, and creating social media posts for the Visitor’s Bureau.
One of the places where you can find me in Ann Arbor is at the sporting events. This past year, I actually had the opportunity to intern with the University of Michigan Athletic Department and work almost all of the sporting events. Even though my weekends were basically booked every week with games, this internship quickly became one of my favorite things to do on campus, and I hope to continue to work for the athletic department until I graduate. Go Blue!
Contrary to popular opinion, I love winters in Michigan! Some of my favorite activities involve snowboarding and figure skating. During the winter, my family and I like to go skiing at Crystal Mountain or Caberfae. We also like to go skating on some outdoor rinks in Muskegon in the winter, but I actually figure skated competitively year-round for about ten years.
I have a slight obsession with animals. At home, I have a golden retriever named Loki and a pitbull-lab mix named Emmi. When I am away at school, I miss them more than anything. (Sorry Mom and Dad). I also really love horses. I began going to a horse ranch in the summer when I was an elementary-schooler, and I continued to go there for ten more years until they finally hired me to work there for a full summer.
If you ever see either of us around the office or in the Grand Haven Area, don’t hesitate to say hi!
