Best Coffee Shops in the Grand Haven Area
September 29th is National Coffee Day so here is a list of the best locally owned coffee shops in the Grand Haven area!
Jumpin’ Java Coffee House
Jumpin’ Java is located downtown Grand Haven on Washington Avenue and serves up coffee in all of the classic ways including lattes, cappuccino, espresso, iced coffee, and more. Here you can also grab smoothies, muffins, cookies, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, sodas, and more. Outdoor seating is available in the warmer months and they also host occasional live music events. For frequent coffee goers, be sure to grab a punch card that can earn you free beverages!
Aldea Coffee is located in the historic Grand Haven Armory building downtown and happily shares the space with Grand Armory Brewing, The Armory Art Center, and Righteous BBQ. Aldea works directly with farmers who live in the mountains of La Union, Honduras. All of their coffees are purchased at far above fair trade rate, and are specialty grade. They brew their coffee via Chemex, Hario V60, and Aeropress to create one flavorful cup of coffee. If you order a latte, sometimes you can get lucky they will create a beautiful work of art in your mug. Sometimes it is just too pretty to drink!
The Coffee Grounds
Coffee Grounds is located right downtown Grand Haven just a block from the boardwalk inside the Harbourfront Building. This historical building used to be home to the Story & Clark Piano Factory which us locals refer to as just ‘The Old Piano Factory’. The Coffee Grounds serves up coffee in all of your favorite ways and also offers baked goods such as muffins, cookies, bars, and more. They have outdoor cafe tables in the warmer months and is a great spot for reading and people watching.
Java Boulevard is the cafe located inside of Magnum Coffee in Nunica. Magnum Coffee is a specialty roastery that uses the finest Arabica coffee beans from the premier coffee growing estates and regions from around the world. Java Boulevard serves up Magnum Coffee’s specialty coffee in a variety of ways and also sells bags and k-cups of its coffee. As a bonus, they offer a drive through window!
