Planning your day for the 4th is sometimes more difficult and stressful than it should be on such a holiday. Let us help you plan your day by giving you some detailed information and options for your stay in the Grand Haven area.

#1 – Grand Haven Fireworks Show

Grand Haven will be hosting their annual spectacular fireworks display just after 10 pm in downtown Grand Haven. The fireworks can be seen from several spots in town including Waterfront Stadium, boardwalk, and along the downtown streets. The famous Musical Fountain will have a special 4th of July performance before the fireworks display. Arrive early and plan accordingly as this is a popular destination for anyone in the West Michigan region. Find more info here.

#2 – 4th of July Lawn Party BBQ

Jack’s Waterfront Bistro & Bar at the Holiday Inn will be hosting their annual backyard BBQ event from 5 pm-1 am. Bring your lawn-chairs, blankets and an appetite! The BBQ runs from 5 pm-8 pm while the band Jaded 8 plays until 9 pm. DJ John Doe will keep the party alive before and after the Grand Haven fireworks which can be seen from their lawn. #3 – Allendale 4th of July

Start your celebration out right with a scrumptious pancake breakfast at the Engine House from 7:30 to 10 am. At 10 am the annual 4th of July parade will march through the Grand Valley State University campus. After the parade the day’s festivities continue with family fun in the park at 11am. The Allendale Community Park will host a car show, inflatables, craft show, obstacle race, food and more! Following the fun in the park will be the incredible fireworks display at 10 pm. #4 – Ferrysburg 4th of July Parade

Enjoy pancakes with the Mayor starting at 8 am at Ferrysburg City Hall until 10 am. The annual parade will kick off at 10:30 am children are invited to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, and strollers and join the parade! There will be a party in the park at William Ferry Park for music, food, games and prizes following the flag raising ceremony. For more information, click here!

#5 – 24th Annual Pedro’s Pig Roast

The 24th Annual Pedro’s Pig Roast will be held from Noon to 7pm at Grand Haven City Beach. This year’s theme is “Pirate Island” which will include a treasure hunt, tug-of-war, beach blanket bingo and more!
