Lake Michigan seascapes and Michigan-themed pottery with glazes that evoke the waters of Lake Michigan highlight “State of MinE”, the new August show presented by Gallery Uptown in Grand Haven.
This all Michigan-themed show features six area artists: Aziza Abbasi, Lynne Boezaart and Michele Gort present their oils of local street scenes, landscapes and seascapes; Cheryl Jordan, and Mark and Patti Mohrenweiser with Michigan-themed pottery; and Bob Walma with wonderful photography of local scenes.
“State of MinE” will be showing at Gallery Uptown August 2 through August 27. An opening reception will be held Friday, August 11 from 5:30 – 8:00pm, with the artists on hand to speak about their work. The public is invited to attend this free event, and wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Gallery Uptown is the oldest artist owned gallery in Michigan and has been voted “Best Gallery in the Grand Haven area” ten years in a row. Thirty award-winning artists from the West Michigan area show their work in the gallery all year around.
