Through the month of September, Gallery Uptown in Grand Haven transitions from summer to fall with “Art Beneath the Bark,” a collection of artistic expression through cotton fabrics, wood working, and wooded scenes. The show features Gallery Uptown artist Catherine McClung with her award winning watercolors, quilts by Lana and Ron Campbell, and wood working and wood turning pieces from new Gallery Uptown member Doug Brinks, along with Jeff Grill, Steve Lohr and Mike McClung.
“Art Beneath the Bark” will be showing at Gallery Uptown August 30 through September 30. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 1 from 5:30 – 8:00pm, with the artists on hand to speak about their work. The public is invited to attend this free event, and wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Gallery Uptown is the oldest artist owned gallery in Michigan and has been voted “Best Gallery in the Grand Haven area” ten years in a row. Thirty award-winning artists from the West Michigan area show their work in the gallery all year around.
