Videos: Best Places To Catch The Sunset
Catching the sunset is one of the best things to do in the Grand Haven area! While there are many great places to watch the sunset, we’ve created a few videos to give you a glimpse of some of our favorite spots.
Check out this awesome view along the Grand River featuring Grand Haven’s one-of-a kind lighthouse and pier! Along the way you can stop for ice cream at Captain Custard, the Pier Peddler, or grab a quick snack at the famous Pronto Pup Stand. Once the sun has set, be sure to stick around for the Grand Haven Musical Fountain, a wonderful display of synchronized water and lights.
What’s better than watching the sun set from the beach? Nothing. Sink your toes in the sand, sit back, relax, and enjoy while you watch the skyline become Mother Nature’s very own canvas.
Rosy Mound Natural Area is wonderful place to go and enjoy the great outdoors. Take a hike out through the sand dunes that tower along Lake Michigan’s shoreline. There are several trails to choose from, but if you stick to the main path it will take you to the overlook where you can set your sights on the stunning horizon.
If you are looking for an escape from the busy weekend be sure to put this location on your radar. North Beach Park in Ferrysburg is a great getaway for those looking for a less crowded beach experience; plus, it comes with a spectacular view overlooking the dunes and Lake Michigan.
Just down the road from North Beach is where you can access the North Pier. From here, you can watch the sunset as boats come back into harbor and fishermen try their luck at an end of the day catch. You can also see our famous lighthouses from this location too!
When it’s all said and done you can’t find a better place than Grand Haven to watch the sun go down. Next time you want to see the sunset be sure to think about these breathtaking landscapes located throughout the Grand Haven area.
